Golden Syrup & Date Flapjacks

Flapjacks are a moorish, filling and a lovely treat. To make ours a little different and add some fruit I add chopped dates. This gives them a lovely flavour. These are very simple to make. Using the food processor breaks down the oats a little to give a more refined flapjack. My little girl isn't keen on flapjacks, but the slightly more 'biscuity' texture of these gets gobbled up.

Ingredients
250g Porridge Oats
125g Butter
125g Brown Sugar
2-3 tbsps Golden Syrup (depends how gooey you want it)
200g chopped dates

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180c
2. Mix the dates, softened butter, and sugar in the food processor for 30 seconds
3. Add the oats and golden syrup and  blitz until you have a textures you are happy with
4. Put into a greased baking tin - I use a silicon one
5. Bake for 20 minutes or until a golden colour you are happy with
6. Gently score into squares with a knife whilst still hot and leave to cool in the tin until firm
