These are lovely little 'jammy dodger' buns, great to make with kids and nice to eat as a grown up kid. My Son made these at his school cookery class and bought the recipe home. They only take half an hour end to end. This makes about 12.
Ingredients
225g Self raising flour
1 egg
110g Sugar
110g Butter
Drop of milk of required
Jam for fillings
Method
Pre-heat over to 180c.
Mix together the dry ingredients, adding the butter and egg. The mixture should stay together but not be too sticky. Add a drop of milk if it won 't come together.
Form into little balls on a lined baking tray and use your finger to make a dent in the middle of each one. The balls spread out, so allow room between each one.
Bake for 10 - 15 mins until golden brown.
Let stand for a couple of minutes before tucking in - the jam will be VERY hot.
Cooking adventures for our family, growing our list of favourites over time. Previously called Jam tarts and gingerbread men, this blog is having a makeover.
